In 2016, Mr. Abdikadir Osman Yusuf earned his Bachelor of Public Health from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Southern Somalia. With his outstanding qualification, he is currently Human Resources Manager at Bay Regional Hospital, the largest health facility in the South-West State of Somalia. The USS’s well designed and carefully developed curriculum, which fulfills all the requirements of professional knowledge and integrates it with training in leadership and modern management studies, is what gives our graduates what it takes to be at the top when it comes to employability. Mr. Hassan Ibrahim Mohamed, also known as Hassan Gaduudow, is one of the graduates of the University of Southern Somalia with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2014. Moving gradually upward the professional ladder, Mr. Hassan I. Mohamed is currently a confident Project Coordinator at SOS Children’s Village in Baidoa, where he is at the forefront of programs that assist vulnerable groups, children in particular. Exceptional interpersonal approaches, sound professional ethics, timely service delivery and commitment to a smooth coordination of the versatile activities under his project make Mr. Hassan I. Mr. Dahabo A. Ahmed is one the graduates of the University of Southern Somalia in 2016, exiting with Bachelor Degree in Public Health.  Upon completion of her studies and with an earned certificate in her possession, her employer, the World Health Organization (WHO), promoted her to the well-deserved position of District Polio Officer, where she carries out her duty significantly at that leadership capacity. Polio is among the major programs in the Southwest State of Somalia (SWSS), while Ms. Dahabo A. Ahmed’s program covers the implementation of the polio project in Baidoa, the capital city of the SWSS. This indicates the quality of not only professional   training Ms. Ahmed has taken but indeed the quality of leadership and ethics we instill in our students. Ms. Ahmed states, I believe that where you study, what you study and how you study matters. Leading the Nutrition Project of SOS Children’s Village in Baidoa, South-West State of Somalia (SWSS), Mr. Hassan Mayow Mukhtar completed a Diploma in Business Administration before receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health in 2016, with both awards coming from the University of Southern Somalia. “After studying at the University of Southern Somalia, you are never the same; because at the USS they teach you to be the best in the job market. Mr. Ali Abdullahi Ali was promoted to Program Officer after his graduation from the University of Southern Somalia. He was selected for the promotion due to his potential for acquiring a USS degree and utilizing the skills and techniques appropriate for the requirements of his day-to-day duties.

Mr. Mahad Y. Isack earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health in 2017 from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Southern Somalia. Currently he is the Head of Finance at Golweyn Relief and Rehabilitation Network (GRRN), a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which is among the most successful local institutions in the South-West State and, for that matter, in the Federal Republic of Somalia. University of Southern Somalia graduate of Batch 2014, Mr. Isack Mohamed Mursal is among the high profile professionals currently contributing to the development of the South-West State of Somalia. Mr. Isack is highly reputed for his operational restructuring of the Ministry of Health of the South-State of Somalia. There, he introduced and carried out an innovative initiative that ameliorated the services the Ministry was providing to the public. With such a remarkable achievement in his portfolio; he was appointed to enhance the operational scheme of the Ministry of Planning, where he is currently the Director General of the Ministry of Planning of the South-West State of Somalia (SWSS) and indeed the center-pole of the operational system of the Ministry. To be promoted to the key post of Director General (DG) of the SWSS Ministry of Planning, Mr. Mursal has demonstrated his unmatched academic training at the USS, not to mention the quality of professional ethics and leadership traits the University had installed in him as part of his study program. “When we see how we perform far ahead of others, we really feel proud of our study at the University of Southern Somalia,” the DG admits. Mr. Abdullahi A. Ibrahim represents the numerous high profile professionals in the private sector who graduated from the University of Southern Somalia. He obtained his Bachelor of Public Health degree in 2016. By any professional standard, the title Mr. Ibrahim has (Finance Specialist), and the organization he works for (Ministry of Planning, SWSS) on a project sponsored by the World Bank, responds to the unequalled quality of academic, ethical, professional and leadership training the University of Southern Somalia inculcates in its students. At the top of the Human Resources (HR) Department of Baya-Hawa General Hospital, the second largest health facility in the South-West State of Somalia, Ms. Hawa A. Ibrahim is a proud USS graduate of 2018. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with concentration in Nursing Sciences. Talking about how not many females occupy top managerial positions in the public institutions, Ms. Hawa Ibrahim said: “I’d studied at the University of Southern Somalia, so I was educated enough to qualify for the post. Ms. Ambiyo Mohamed Dahir was awarded her Bachelor of Education from the University of Southern Somalia’s Faculty of Education in 2017. She is the Manager of Dr. Ayub Primary & Sechool, which is one of the most popular and most successful schools in Baidoa, the capital of the Southwest State of Somalia (SWSS). She is a very confident female intellectual at the leadership of the management of a co-school that educates both boys and girls at primary and secondary levels of education. The role Ms. Ambiyo Dahir is playing in child education, especially at such a top leadership position, portrays the academic leadership of the University of Southern Somalia and the relevance of the curriculum it has designed for each area of study.
