Answering directly to the Board of Executive Directors, the Executive President occupies the top leadership position of the University of Southern Somalia. He oversees the planning, budgeting, and overall the day-to-day operation of the University and its affiliate institutions as indicated in the organizational chart.
By virtue of his position and as a member of the Board of Executive Directors, the Executive President is authorized to sign memoranda of understanding on behalf of the University, represent the institution nationally and internationally, explore affiliations and collaboration with other academic institutions worldwide, and spearhead the journey towards achieving the Mission and Vision of the USS as outlined by the Board of Executive Directors. Further, the Executive President is responsible for the recruitment of lecturers and other staff so as to adhere to the principles of fairness, equal opportunity, and the merits of employing the right person for the right position.
